About us

The idea to unite Estonian and Finnish Sunderland supporters was “invented” on February 24th 2002, when Sakari was visiting the Estonian SAFC supporters for the first time in Tallinn. Together they watched a match from the TV as Scum United got a win against SAFC… After long years they finally got it…

After that event the Finnish and Estonian SAFC supporters kept in touch. It didn’t take a lot of time to finalise an idea, which was just some years old — to have a football match between the local SAFC and NUFC supporters. The match was played on October 19th 2002. Pictures and articles about this match in different fanzines and forums were very welcomed by People of Sunderland and this was the final reason making this webpage.

Our next big challenge was to get our branchflag to the Stadium of Light. This task was completed for the 2004/05 season and since then you can recognize it at the right side of North Stand upper.

Our support group is very little one compared to the similar Scandinavian branch or even Feyenoord group for excample (not to mention American or Australian branches), but still we try to attend few games every season and give our best to keep the red and white flag flying high!

Ha’way the Lads!
